Center in the Square has five opportunities to select from

Harrison Museum of African American Culture

The Harrison Museum of African American Culture will allow your students to glean awareness of the significant contributions of art and history from people of African descent. In addition to the visual collections, students will hear oral stories and recollections told by elders to enhance the materials found in the museum. A visit to the Harrison Museum is sure to encourage and inspire our youth of today!

Oceans & Mountains - COMING FALL 2024

This choice takes you to the deep waters of aquarium life, learning about the aquatic ecosystem, fish and coral, and how our tank system works. The adventure does not end there, as you will also spend time on the roof learning about green space, renewable energy, and how our rooftop restaurant is growing herbs and spices in its kitchen.

Pinball

If your group is in Fourth Grade or older, this is an excellent choice for you! Time spent in our Pinball Museum never disappoints! Physics comes to life through the Roanoke Pinball Museum. Children can see firsthand how force impacts acceleration and compare and contrast the technological differences between machines from 1932 to the modern age. Learning through play is always fun when it comes to pinball!

Science

The Science Museum of Western Virginia is always a favorite. The Science Museum continues to reinvent how our community explores science. The museum has served millions of K-12 school children and thousands more through college and community outreach programs and public events. The museum features two floors of exciting hands-on exhibits that will engage visitors of all ages.

STARCADE

STARCADE is a favorite at Center in the Square. Boys and girls can enjoy time together while experiencing the joys of video games in classic and newer formats. Playing video games stimulates your creativity and your imagination. It also challenges your reaction time and eye-hand coordination. While your students visit the Roanoke STARCADE, encourage them to watch for the "Level up your health!" signs to learn more about the benefits of video games.
